Building Microsoft System Center Cloud – SCVMM 2012 R2 – Library Servers – Share ISO for your VMs

Be able to share your ISOs for your VMs

There are more possibilities how to connect ISOs to virtual drives. One of the possibility that guarantee that your ISO is always available even after migration to another host is to set that ISO is copied to the VM. It is a foolproof possibility but it also makes your VMs larger so it is better to share the ISO images.

  • In order to share the ISOs your hosts have to trust to the VMM library servers.
  • Set Kerberos Constrained Delegation in properties of your hosts.
      • Computers: Your Library Servers
      • Service: cifs
