Implementing Windows Server 2012 R2 Hyper-V Failover Cluster – Part 3 – Installation and basic configuration


This article is not part of the Building Microsoft System Center Cloud series but we will use the new cluster to host our VMs in the cloud series.

Active Directory

Add hosts to the domain

  • Network is configured so we can now add the nodes into domain.

Failover Clustering feature

  • In the case you did not install Failover Clustering feature do it please:
Add-WindowsFeature Failover-Clustering -IncludeManagementTools

Create Cluster Wizard

  • Now we can continue as usually.
  • Create Cluster Wizard
  • Run validation.
  • Set name and IP address.

  • I did not get my LUNs from the storage team yet so the storage will not be configured at this point.
